IBIE 2013, the International Baking Industry Exposition, will take place October 6 – 9, 2013, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This tradeshow takes place every three years. It will span nearly 500,000 net square feet of space with approximately 800 exhibitors displaying every product and service there is that pertains to the baking industry. The show is expected to draw over 20,000 baking professionals. The International Baking Industry Exposition is the largest tradeshow held in North America that showcases the industry’s latest technologies, equipment and new product introductions.
IBIE is produced by the International Baking Industry Exposition, LLC and supported by the American Bakers Association (ABA), BEMA and the Retail Bakers of America. IBIE was founded in 1920 by ABA and BEMA to provide a forum to connect bakers with suppliers to further the good of the industry. Proceeds from the show are invested back into the industry.
What does IBIE stand for?
IBIE stands for International Baking Industry Exposition. It is also commonly referred to as “Expo” or “Baking Expo.”

How many people are expected to attend IBIE?
Approximately 20,000 baking professionals are expected to attend.
Who attends IBIE?
Participants represent the entire industry including small, medium and large wholesale bakery plants; retail bakeries and outlets; in-house supermarkets; catering companies; restaurants/hotels; artisan bakeries, coffee shops, pizza restaurants/chains, etc.
Can anyone attend the show? Do you have to be in the baking industry?
The show is geared towards trade professionals or those looking to enter the trade. Guests of attendees (except children) are more than welcome to attend the show; however guests and spouses are not complimentary. All attendees are subject to the registration fee. If you are not in the industry, please select the “Allied/Other” registration category when you register.
I am coming from overseas, how do I get a letter of invitation to obtain a Visa?
If you are an international registrant, you will automatically receive a link to request an invitation letter for a Visa as well as delivery options for receiving the letter. You can also call IBIE 2013 customer service (708) 486-0719 or (877) 303-0719 to request a visa letter. Visa letters are contingent upon registering for IBIE 2013. You cannot receive a Visa letter unless you have registered.
What is the dress/attire?
The dress code varies from business attire to business casual to casual based on the business you plan to conduct at the show. Shirt and shoes are required of course; comfortable, covered shoes are recommended – IBIE is a big show with a lot of floor space to cover! We suggest dressing comfortably, but dress code is strictly a personal preference.
Can I take pictures at the tradeshow?
Cameras are strictly prohibited on the show floor. Exceptions are authorized members of the media. Camera passes for media members are available in the Media Information Center at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
What if I forget or lose my badge during the IBIE show?
Once a badge has been printed and mailed or picked up onsite, it will not be automatically be re-printed on request. Please come to the Registration Area at the Convention Center and ask to see a supervisor.
You will be asked to show identification. At the discretion of IBIE Management, REPLACEMENT BADGES MAY BE SUBJECT TO THE FULL BADGE FEE.
Are children and strollers permitted in the exhibit halls?
We regret that absolutely no children 12 years of age and younger are permitted on the exhibit floor. This includes infants in strollers. This rule will be strictly enforced by IBIE Management for safety and insurance purposes. You must be 13 years or older to be on the show floor. No exceptions will be made. There are no on-site childcare services.
Are there childcare services that I can hire onsite?
There are no childcare services onsite whatsoever. We strongly discourage bringing children 12 and under to the convention center as they will not be allowed in any of the halls – having someone watch them in the lobby is not recommended.
How can I get a show directory?
Show directories are available onsite for all attendees. They can be found in bins in various locations in the convention center. A list of exhibitors is available here. Product locator finders and booth number lists will be available at the show.
Does the Convention Center offer assistance for visitors with disabilities?
We want you to enjoy IBIE 2013. If you have any special needs, there is an opportunity on the registration form to provide any special needs information, or you can call Kelly Kotche at (202) 789-0300 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. IBIE will do everything possible to assist you.

Wheelchair or scooter rental:
Requests for wheelchair and scooter rentals can be made through Scootaround Mobility Solutions; phone (888) 441-7575 for reservations. Scooter rental requests can be made online. You can book your mobility rental up to one year in advance and have it delivered to your hotel (pick up at Bell Desk) or you can make arrangements to pick it up at the FedEx Office located in the Grand Lobby (Central Hall) and the South Hall Lobby.
Automatic doors have been installed at both facilities at the most frequently used entrances for our disabled visitors.
TDDs (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) are located throughout the Las Vegas Convention Center. The IBIE 2013 show is located in the C (Central) and N (North) Halls, not in the S (South) Hall.
There is one TTD at the bank of courtesy phones across from Dispatch (near Hall C3), one at the bank outside Room N243 (top of Grand Lobby escalators), one in the Hall S1 lobby, and one in the Hall S3 lobby.
Is there a shipping office in the Convention Center?
There is a FedEx Office onsite located in the Grand Lobby (Central Hall) and the South Hall Lobby of the Convention Center. Please call (702) 943-6780 for more information and list of services.

The IBIE registration website allows multiple registrations at one time. It’s easy to do. Additional registrations can be completed at the Review Information Section – click on “Add Another Registrant.” Spouses and guests can be added at the same time as each registrant. He/she will receive the same credentials as the registrant. Anyone registering who is active in the business or has different business credentials should register independently with either the “baker” or “allied/other” registration type.
How can I register if I don’t have a computer?
You can call IBIE Customer Service and ask for a form to be faxed or mailed to you. You can return the form by fax to (708) 344-4444 or mail form to IBIE 2013, P.O. Box 614, Brookfield, IL 60513-0604. If you do not provide an email address on your form, a confirmation will be mailed to you.

What is the cost to attend?
Registration Fee for current members of partnering associations (ABA, BEMA, RBA, ASB, AIB, APC, BBGA, BCMA, IBA, WFC and GFF):
Registration fee on or before October 4: $ 75.00
On-site Registration fee (October 5-9): $ 125.00
Non-member Registration Fee:

What are “members of partnering associations” and why is the fee less than the non-member registration?
If you are a member of an IBIE partnering association (ABA, BEMA, RBA, ASB, AIB, APC, BBGA, BCMA, IBA, WFC and GFF), you qualify for a membership discount. As a benefit of being a member of one of these associations, members pay the same registration fee charged in IBIE 2010 with no cost increase.
I think I may be a member of one of these associations, how do I register to get the discount?
If you are a member of one of the partnering associations and are on their regular mailing list, you should receive a membership DISCOUNT CODE in the promotional emails from IBIE. You can also call your association of which you are a member to verify membership and have them give the discount code to you. You MUST be a member and can prove credentials to receive the discount code.
Will I receive my badges before the show?
Badges will be mailed prior to the event to locations in the domestic U.S. to anyone registered before September 25, 2013. Anyone registered after that date must bring their confirmation form to an Express Badge Pick-Up station in the Registration Area on-site where a badge will be generated. Badge holders can also be picked up at a Badge Holder Pick-Up station onsite at the convention center.
International Attendees Badges will not be mailed. International attendees can bring their confirmation form with the bar code to an Express Badge Pick-Up station in the Registration Area on-site where a badge will be generated. Badge holders can also be picked up at a Badge Holder Pick-Up station onsite at the convention center. You can also have your badge printed out at an International Registration Desk.
If you faxed your registration and did not provide an email address, a confirmation will be mailed to you. If you do not receive your confirmation, call IBIE customer service at (708) 486-0719 or (877) 303-0719. If you need to pick up your badge and do not have a confirmation form, you may be asked to show proper identification.
Can students attend the show and what documentation is required to prove current enrollment?
Students can receive complimentary registration through participation in the IBIE Volunteer Program, which requires four hours of volunteer commitment. Tasks will include things such as, checking attendees into seminars and helping with the show-floor demos and competitions. Students are also free to sit-in on sessions they are assisting with once duties are completed.
To prove enrollment, students must provide a scanned copy or photo of a current Student I.D. and upload it with their online registration. If students do not wish you volunteer, they may still attend at the discounted rate of $25.
Students can register online here. A confirmation letter will be e-mailed or mailed within two weeks of submitting your registration form. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact Samantha Moore (will link to her email). U.S. attendee badges will be mailed if registered by Sept. 25; international badges must be picked up onsite in the Registration Area.
Students may also register onsite with valid credentials to get the $25 discounted fee. The Volunteer Program will be closed to onsite registrants.
Are faculty of culinary institutes complimentary and what documentation do I need to retrieve my badge for the show?
Faculty badges are complimentary and can register online here by selecting the respective badge type. Faculty must provide a scanned copy of their current Faculty I.D.
Are members of the press complimentary?
Yes, press must register using a registration form online or on-site. Credentials must be presented in the Media Information Center on-site to receive a complimentary registration. How can I view, update or change my registration information?
You can update your registration information any time before your badge is printed by returning to the IBIE Registration homepage and under “Already Registered,” enter your email address and password to be taken to your registration “Dashboard.” Click the “edit” button under “Personal Information” to make changes to your record. You can also access your “Dashboard” from your confirmation. You can also use your dashboard to add or change your education seminars.
If I have registered for IBIE but unexpectedly cannot attend, can I send someone in my place?
Yes. Call the help line at (708) 486-0719 or (877) 303-0719 and tell them to make the name replacement or make the name change to your registration at any time by editing your record online using your IBIE registration dashboard.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
A refund will be made ONLY if registration is canceled on or before Friday, September 25, 2013. Refund requests must be in writing to the attention of IBIE via fax at (708) 344-4444, or mailed to P.O. Box 604, Brookfield, IL 60513-0604. After the cut-off date, refunds will be made at the discretion of IBIE. Requests can be made to Kelly Kotche at email@example.com.

What IBIE educational seminar programs are available and how much do they cost?
How do I sign up to attend a seminar and can I add education to my registration at a later date?
Education seminar information, including cost, will be available this spring.
You can register for education sessions when you register for IBIE and can add education sessions/update your registration at any time prior to the show or on-site (instructions above) as availability allows. Sessions fill up quickly, so please register early.
What is the RPIA Business in Baking (BOB) Seminar?
The Business of Baking for Beginners, better known as “BOB,” is designed for people with 5 years or less in the bakery business or those looking to join the baking industry. The RPIA BOB is a full day of exposure with experts in the field. Not only will they share secrets and tricks of the trade; but you’ll also have the opportunity to ask Certified Master Bakers your questions. Five experienced members of RPIA’s “brain trust” and over 200 years of experience in baking is just waiting for you.

How much does the RPIA Business in Baking (BOB) Seminar cost?
The fee for the RPIA program is $400, which includes a $45 textbook – “How to Open and Operate a Retail Bakery” as well as an IBIE badge for all four days of the tradeshow.
How do I register for the RPIA Bakery Educators Group?
If you are interested in the RPIA “Bakery Educators Group” session, register for IBIE 2013 Registration Only, and then add the RPIA Bakery Educators Group session in the Events Explorer section of the registration. The additional cost of this session is $75, up and above the cost of your IBIE registration fee.
Can I attend both the Business in Baking (BOB) and the Bakery Educators Group?
The RPIA Business in Baking (BOB) and Bakery Educators Group sessions run at the same time. You can only select one of the two to attend.
What is the Tortilla Industry Association 2013 Technical Conference?
For those in the tortilla industry, this annual conference will focus on operational skills, safety regulations, quality control, preventive maintenance, plant efficiency, and other important best practices. The TIA Technical Conference will offer timely information and networking opportunities that allow participants to capitalize on the fastest growing segment of the baking industry.

How much does the TIA 2013 Technical Conference cost?
Cost of registration is $295 and this includes a registration badge for the IBIE show as well.
CORPORATE AND SMALL MEETINGS PROGRAM
How does a corporate meeting work at IBIE?
Corporate meetings are easy at IBIE! Holding your company’s annual meeting in conjunction with IBIE allows you to reduce travel expenses and travel time, get free or discounted meeting space and give your staff the opportunity to participate in IBIE. You will work closely with IBIE staff to ensure you receive the best meeting space and sleeping rooms to fit your meeting needs.
Can I schedule a smaller meeting (1 – 10 people for example)?
Yes! IBIE staff can work with you on any size meeting that you may want to hold, pending space availability. Meeting space is assigned on a first come, first served basis.
What hours can meetings occur?
Corporate or small meetings can occur outside of the IBIE show hours of 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, October 6 – 9, 2013.

HOTELS AND TRANSPORTATION
How do I get a hotel room?
Special hotel rates and travel discounts are available exclusively for IBIE 2013 participants through onPeak, IBIE’s official housing partner. You can also save money and book with ease through onPeak’s simple-to-use reservation Website. If you have any questions regarding hotel accommodations for this year’s event, feel free to send onPeak an email at email@example.com. A map and hotel list with rates and distances from the convention center are all available on the website.
PLEASE NOTE: onPeak is the only housing company affiliated with IBIE 2013. IBIE cannot guarantee room rates or availability by any other company or representative. Hotel reservations made through any company other than onPeak are at the exclusive risk of the individual and cannot be guaranteed by IBIE.
Will there be transportation provided to the convention center from my hotel?
Shuttle buses are available during peak hours to and from IBIE hotels that are not considered “within walking distance,” such as the Las Vegas Hilton. Buses will run approximately every 15 minutes and begin at the first of hotel for each bus route at 7:30 AM each morning of the show.
