B.E.S.T. in Baking
As part of a commitment to positive transformation in the world, the International Baking Industry Exposition, together with Bundy Baking Solutions and Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, has identified sustainability as one of the industry’s top priorities. The vision is to recognize suppliers that foster energy conservation, reduced water usage, a decrease in landfill waste, healthy living and/ or a reduction of the overall impact on the environment.
IBIE exhibitors who supply equipment, packaging, ingredients, products or services that align with the objectives of the B.E.S.T in Baking program are encouraged to participate in the program by filling out an entry form consisting of open-ended questions regarding how their entries are helping the baking industry become more environmentally sustainable. A panel of expert judges, consisting of experts in sustainability and/or baking best practices, will evaluate the environmental impact, feasibility, return on investment, innovation and practical application to the baking industry of each submission. Entries are due June 1, 2013.
Those who demonstrate significant environmental sustainability will be recognized in upcoming in pre-show promotions, the IBIE website, in a press release, on IBIE’s social media channels and in an onsite display area at IBIE 2013 in Las Vegas.
